Sally was a dear, dear soul. In her last years she faded in and out of concsious presence, but she was well taken care of by her loving husband, Bryan Hedrick. As a funny remembrance, when I was in the Army ('69-'72), I was stationed  for training in Fort Holabird, at the Military Intelligence school in Baltimore, MD. Sally was working at that time for a law firm in London with a WATS line (remember those?). Sally and I had stayed in touch during college, and one night, well after midnight, Eastern time, she (having had a few beers) called for me on her company's WATS line (very early in the morning in London!). I don't know how she got the number, but she called the intelligence school (where the spies are trained) and asked for me. The orderly on duty came down to get Private Stuart out of his bunk, and I followed him up to Headquarters, where I talked to her in a private room for several hours. It was VERY unusual for a guy recently out of basic training to get a phone call, let alone a 2-hour call from a foreign location in the middle of the night. After that night, I was never assigned any duties beyond attending classes - no clean up, no work in the Officers Mess hall, no nothing. This continued after my transfer to German Language School at the DLI in Monterrey, California for 9 months. No duties for Corporal Stuart beyond going to class until my transfer to Kaiserslauterns, Germany as an MI Agent. I was never able to adequately thank Sally for that unwitting favor, but, Sally - wherever you are now - thanks. You made my time in the US Army much more pleasant!
