I remember Roy as a wrestler on the DHS wrestling team. He wrestled at the lightest weight category, around 100 pounds. He was quick and strong on the mats. His opponents knew they had been in a challenging match once the final whistle had sounded. He didn't always win, but he made the rest of the team proud to be associated with him. We will miss you Roy. Rest in peace.  MW

As with Mike, I was on the wrestling team all 4 years, and at the same weights as Roy; we worked out together frequently a couple of summers at Coach Sonneman's house. Roy often didn't have too much to say, but he was a nice guy and easy to be around. On the mat he was a tough competitor, a guy you could depend on. I never saw him after high school, but wondered about him occasionally. I hope he had a satisfying life. I hope we all have and will continue to as long as we hang around. Life continues to be very interesting and challenging, but I feel we're here for a reason. I hope we all learn what it is. So long, Roy!

As with Doug and Mike, I also remember Roy from wrestling.  During my Freshman-Junior years, we shared all the attempts to lose and keep the weight off.  Roy did a much better job at that then I did.  We spent a lot of time on the mats together.  My sympathy to Roy's family and close friends.

It's prety amazing how at times like these that those many years we've been apart from one another quickly bring back  fresh memories. I give thanks for Roy's life, and thanks for seeing thoughts/reflections from fellow travelers on the mats together. I confirm their memories.
